This course provides an introduction to the statistical principles and methods for planning, conducting, and analyzing controlled tests to evaluate factors affecting an outcome. It covers the foundational concepts of experimental design, including randomization, blocking, and replication. Topics include: Basic designs: Completely randomized designs, randomized complete block designs, and Latin squares. Factorial and fractional factorial designs: Systematic methods for studying the effects of multiple factors and their interactions efficiently, including \(2^{k}\) designs. Analysis of variance (ANOVA): The statistical technique used to analyze data from experimental designs, including the interpretation of main effects and interactions.
